Privacy Policy — Sightline
Last updated: 7 September 2026
Sightline (“the app”, “we”) helps you track your spending against budgets. This
policy explains what data the app handles and how.
What we handle
- Account details. When you create an account, your email and a password are
sent to the Sightline server. Passwords are stored only as a salted bcrypt hash
— never in plain text. A session token is stored securely in your device Keychain.
- Budgets, goals & preferences. Stored on your device (SwiftData / app
settings). They are not uploaded unless you are signed in and syncing.
- Bank data (only if you connect a bank). With your consent, we access your
account balances and transactions read-only through Basiq, Australia’s
accredited open-banking (CDR) provider. You log in on your bank’s own page — we
never see or store your bank credentials. This data is used solely to show you
your spending inside the app.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising, no third-party analytics, no cross-app tracking.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We never store your bank login credentials.
